Earlier this month we donned our hard hats and hi vis for our client Strawberry Star Homes’ groundbreaking ceremony, which marked the start of construction on its landmark new Lu2on development.

Located on the site of the former Vauxhall Motors factory, where some of Britain’s most iconic and best-loved cars were once built, Lu2on will provide over 785 bespoke suites, one and two-bedroom apartments and first-class facilities such as private roof gardens and 24-hour concierge in the up-and-coming Bedfordshire town.

From coordinating camera crews and photographers to directing high profile guests, it was our job to help oversee events on the day and to make sure that everything ran smoothly. The ceremony was attended by the great and the good of Luton, including Robin Porter, Chief Executive of Luton Borough Council; Maria Lovell, Deputy Mayor of Luton; Bill McKenzie, Lord McKenzie of Luton and Meryl Dolling, High Sheriff of Bedfordshire.

Ahead of the event, we were able to secure attendance from BBC News Look East who interviewed some of the key attendees at the ceremony, which aired on its evening news programme. We also arranged for Strawberry Star Chairman, Santhosh Gowda, to be interviewed live on BBC Three Counties drive time radio that evening.

Santhosh Gowda comments: “The ground-breaking ceremony at Lu2on was an important milestone for Strawberry Star, as we embark on our volume housing strategy to provide London lifestyle homes in the commuter belt towns. I would like to thank Luton Borough Council, our vendors, consultants and stakeholders for their support and cooperation in helping us reach this stage. Lu2on will contribute to the local economy and is set to be become a landmark in Luton.”
