Building Relations has joined Homes for Scotland, the voice of the home building industry north of the Border.

The organisation represents c200 members which together deliver the majority of the country’s new build and affordable homes and is dedicated to increasing the number of homes being built annually.

It aims to change, challenge and collaborate on behalf of members to ensure the housing needs and aspirations of all those living in Scotland are met.

Rachel Colgan, Building Relations’ Managing Director, said: “As our presence as a PR Agency for housing and new homes in Scotland continues to grow, we are excited to join Homes for Scotland and play our part in the wider ambitions of the new homes industry. It is vital that our growing Edinburgh team remains at the heart of the conversation and understands the pressures that our clients face.

“There is a massive shortfall of 110,000 homes in Scotland and the work of Homes for Scotland has never been more vital – it does an important job of raising awareness of the issues constricting supply, lobbying Government and communicating directly on behalf of those in the home building industry. This very much aligns with our belief as an agency in the importance of taking a proactive approach towards the issues that impact on home buyers.

“Homes for Scotland provides a powerful collective force on issues as wide ranging as the transition to net zero to barriers to affordability for first time buyers and we are looking forward to helping amplify the message and sharing the views of our clients in the property sector.”

Homes for Scotland has been involved in shaping many major initiatives which have stimulated the housing market including the Help to Buy Scotland, First Home Fund and, most recently, Deposit Unlock schemes.

Jane Wood, Homes for Scotland Chief Executive, said: “I am always heartened by the passion of those working within the property sector, not only home builders but also those who provide key services to them such as the marketing and PR industries. “The support of companies like Building Relations in helping us achieve the delivery of much needed new homes across the country is vitally important and much appreciated. It is great to have another business strengthening the depth and breadth of our membership and we look forward to
