Building Relations is set to undertake a 25km fundraising walk across London on 31st July 2026 in support of Furnishing Futures.

The walk will see team members from the agency’s London office take to the streets to raise vital funds and awareness for the charity, which helps create safe, secure and healing homes for women and children escaping domestic abuse. According to Furnishing Futures, less than 2% of social housing tenancies come furnished and the lack of support is a significant barrier to victims escaping domestic abuse.

The challenge will begin at Building Relations’ Blackfriars office, with the team following a 25km route along the River Thames and Canary Wharf, finishing at Cutty Sark near the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich. The walk forms part of Building Relations’ ongoing commitment to supporting Furnishing Futures through fundraising, volunteering and profile-raising initiatives throughout 2026.

Building Relations announced its partnership with Furnishing Futures earlier this year, recognising the charity’s shared commitment to housing, community and sustainability. Since then, the agency has supported the charity through volunteering opportunities and fundraising initiatives, with the 25km walk representing its biggest fundraising event for Furnishing Futures to date.

Members of the Building Relations team have also undertaken volunteering at Furnishing Futures’ warehouse in Leyton, E10, helping to prepare furniture and home essentials for families rebuilding their lives after domestic abuse. During the day, they sorted and assembled donated items, organised the warehouse, assisted with loading and unloading vans, and prepared furniture and homeware for upcoming events and sales, supporting the charity’s work behind the scenes.

Emily Wheeler, Founder and CEO of Furnishing Futures, comments: “More than 6 million people across the UK are affected by furniture poverty, and the demand for our support continues to grow at a devastating pace. As a London-based charity, it means so much to see Building Relations PR taking on a 25km walk through the capital in support of our mission. Every step taken and every pound raised will help us transform more empty properties into safe, comfortable homes where women and children can heal, recover and rebuild their lives. We are incredibly grateful to the team for choosing Furnishing Futures as its Charity of the Year and for its continued commitment to making a lasting difference.”

Kathryn Reucroft, Managing Director at Building Relations PR, comments: “Furnishing Futures’ strong and inspirational commitment to housing, community and sustainability reflects many of our core principles at Building Relations PR. We are looking forward to building on our existing fundraising and volunteering efforts by taking on this significant challenge across London and supporting the charity’s incredible work.”
